Establish Company

Japan remains one of the dominant economic powers. It is one of the largest and most developed economies in the world. It is a market full of opportunities. There are two major types of companies you can establish in Japan. One is Kabushiki Kaisha (KK) and the other one is Godo Kaisha (GK).

Kabushiki Kaisha (KK) or joint-stock company is the most credible form of company in Japan. KK is easily recognized and trusted especially when working with major Japanese companies. KK is far more common than the GK, comprising about 80% of all registered companies. Profit-sharing for KK is tied to the investment rate. One of the disadvantages of KK is that the setting up cost is higher than GK. If you considering listing as a public company in the future, KK is an option for you.

Godo Kaisha (GK) or Limited Liability Company (LLC) was newly introduced in 2006 and still not widely known. Profit-sharing for GK is possible to decide freely without being bound to the investment rates. The setup procedure for GK is easier compare to KK. However, some disadvantages that should be aware of is that if you wish to raise additional capital, all members must agree on it. Therefore it is much more difficult to raise additional capital for GK.
